Advance Discrete Structure is a compulsory paper in most of the computing
programs (M.Tech., MCA, M.Sc., B.Tech., BCA, B.Sc. etc.). This book has been
written to fulfill the requirements of graduate and post-graduate students
pursuing courses in mathematics as well as in computer engineering.
This book covers the topics from Sets, Relations, Functions, Propositional logic,
Techniques of proof, Lattice, Algebraic structures, Boolean algebra
Combinatorics, Discrete numeric function, Generating function and Recurrence
relation, and Graph theory.
In this book, each chapter starts with a clear statement of pertinent definitions,
principles and theorems with illustrative and descriptive material. A large

C.B. Gupta is currently working at the Department of Mathematics, BITS, Pilani.
He has more than 20 years of experience of research and teaching of graduate
and post-graduate classes. Prof. Gupta has published a number of research
papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored books on the topics:
Probability and Statistics, Optimisation, Engineering Mathematics, etc.
S.R. Singh is an Associate Professor in the Department of P.G. Study and
Research in Mathematics in D.N. (P.G.) College, Meerut (U.P.), India. His Ph.D.
is from C.C.S. University, Meerut (U.P.), India. His research interests include
Inventory control, Supply chain, Cryptography and Fuzzy set theory. Ten
students have been awarded Ph.D. under his supervision. His research papers
have been published in Opsearch, International Journal of Operational
Research (IJOR), Fuzzy Sets and Systems, International Review of Pure and
Applied Mathematics, International Journal of Operations and Quantitative
Management, and Indian Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences.
Sandeep Kumar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied
Sciences, IIMT Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut. He has 7 years
of experience of research and teaching of graduate and post-graduate classes.
His areas of interest include Numerical Optimisation and Operations Research,
Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Computer Graphics, Theory of Automata,
Engineering Mathematics, etc. He has published many research papers in
various journals and conferences of national and international repute. He has
also published two books.
