The advancement and improvement in the fields of technology and economy
have not only improved the quality of human life, but have also paved the way for
global environmental degradation. In fact, the rapid depletion of natural
resources and various environmental problems, viz., deterioration of air quality,
global warming and climate change, contamination of water and soil,
groundwater depletion and disposal of solid, etc., are threatening the survival of
life on earth.
Anuj Kumar Purwar is Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Civil
Engineering, Skyline Institute of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida (UP).
He obtained his B.E. degree from Malaviya Regional Engineering College,
Jaipur (now MNIT Jaipur) and M.Tech. degree from National Institute of
Technology, Allahabad. He has six years of teaching experience. His research
interests are Environmental Engineering, GIS & Remote Sensing, and
Surveying. He has to his credit several research papers and has authored books
in the areas of Geoinformatics and Basic Civil Engineering.
